To All Members,
First of all let me thank you on behalf of wildroselolita and myself for having sustained an active and successful roleplay for nearly three years. Many interesting stories have been told on this board, and we will both treasure the success and enjoyment that we have had from the game.
Wildroselolita has been ill for a few months and unable to maintain the game, which was originally her concept. I have also been extremely busy and as a result I feel that a lot of things have gotten out of hand or sidelined. Furthermore, some trends on the board are starting to stagnate game play, and from my overall assessment, I feel that the game has been less fun recently for all players. Additionally, this board has very limited options for administrators and it badly needs an upgrade to the newer offerings available which allow for group management and etc.
In order to increase the amount of traffic, new players, and new ideas flowing through, I have made the decision to close the board. On Saturday, March 22, 2008 all forums will be locked. At the end of the month, all user accounts will be de-activated and the board will be a read-only from that point forward. You will be able to read all posts, but no additional updates, PMs, and etc will be generated.
This is not, however, the end of the game.
With wildroselolita's permission I have begun a new game, loosely based on her original concept. The game, Rosewood Academy will combine the best aspects of the RPs that I have personally participated in, to create a rewarding and new experience for all players.
Rosewood Academy is the title of both the game and school in which the game is set. The Academy is a prestigious boarding school located on the East Coast, offering arts-centered educations to students aged 14-20. There will be many enjoyable elements of game play including a yearly ball, cultural festival, and an exclusive, student association which is older the school itself and has its own agenda. All activity will be school-focused because all students live on-campus, therefore gameplay will be very lively as students interact continuously.
I strongly encourage players to move their characters to this new board and modify them for play at Rosewood, or create entirely new ones! In about a day or so, I will be posting the staff positions available, and I hope that staff members here will consider the possibilities available to them.
The forum will have a less laid-back atmosphere than this one. IP checks will be enforced with a maximum of three characters per player, and the moderators will closely monitor for any sudden introductions of Big Bad Pasts that are not already integrated into a character's profile. In general the game will feature realistic characters interacting... realistically.
You can see the new forum at rosewood.forumer.com. It is still being tweaked, and obviously the design will be prettier once we're all done. The forum will be open for game play in April, most likely around April 15th, but announcements and so forth will be made to that affect.
In the meantime, please enjoy your last days here on Broken Glass and start getting ready for a brand-new future at Rosewood Academy! |
